WWE SmackDown was taped at the Canadian Tire Centre in Ottawa, Canada. The show continued the road to Sunday Night’s Main Event.
Cody Rhodes delivered a message to Randy Orton. Kevin Owens and CM Punk also addressed their title match from last week.
Paige challenged Jacy Jayne for the United States Championship. Chelsea Green and Tiffany Stratton also faced the Irresistible Forces.

Kevin Owens, GUNTHER and Finn Balor Set for #1 Contender’s Match
Kevin Owens addressed his loss to CM Punk in Toronto. He said it was especially painful because his parents attended the show. His mother rarely travels to WWE events now. Owens said Sami Zayn ruined what should have been a special moment.
Owens said he cannot forgive Zayn for interfering. He also believes he had CM Punk beaten. Owens promised to keep chasing Punk until he wins the championship.
Punk then came out and said he would fight Owens again. Nick Aldis stepped in before things could escalate.
GUNTHER interrupted and criticized both men for their rivalry. He said their issues have distracted them from what matters now. Finn Balor then entered and claimed he should be next for the title.
Aldis settled the situation by announcing a three-way #1 contender’s match between Kevin Owens, GUNTHER, and Finn Balor.
Chelsea Green & Tiffany Stratton vs Irresistible Forces (Lash Legend & Nia Jax)
Chelsea Green and Tiffany Stratton faced Lash Legend and Nia Jax. Stratton started well against Legend with quick attacks. Green later helped her hit a Zig Zag on Lash. Nia Jax then took control and targeted Chelsea’s injured face. Green was checked by medics but returned to continue the match. Stratton fought back with a shiranui and later made the tag. Green hit a missile dropkick and tried a Killswitch. Lash stopped her while Nia attacked Chelsea’s injured face. Jax then hit a Banzai Drop on Green. The Irresistible Forces won by pinfall.
Jacy Jayne (c) vs Paige (WWE Women’s United States Championship)
Jacy Jayne defended the WWE Women’s United States Championship against Paige. Jayne started by avoiding Paige and regrouping outside. Paige then took control with strikes and a cannonball off the apron. Lainey Reid attacked Paige and changed the momentum. After the break, both women traded hard lariats and punches. Paige hit the Paige Turner but Jayne kicked out. Paige then fought off Reid and Fallon Henley. She looked ready to finish the champion. Jayne countered and caught Paige with a small package. Jacy Jayne won by pinfall and retained her United States Championship.
Cody Rhodes Questions Randy Orton’s Legacy
Cody Rhodes said Randy Orton has wasted too many chances. He questioned whether Orton can still reach fifteen world titles. Cody said Orton always finds excuses after making mistakes. Randy then entered and discussed their past together. He admitted making bad decisions while Cody helped him during his early career. Orton then attacked Cody personally and mentioned his family. Cody became visibly angry but refused to fight him. Rhodes said Orton was trying to provoke him into breaking their match agreement. He then questioned whether Orton can match Dusty Rhodes’ legacy. Orton said Cody had gone too far.
“Michin” Mia Yim vs Tatum Paxley
Tatum Paxley defeated “Michin” Mia Yim after a tough match. Yim used early trash talk and controlled the opening exchanges. Paxley stayed focused and answered with quick counters. She also hit a moonsault off the apron during the match. After the break, Yim worked over Paxley with several submission moves. Tatum later found her opening and fired back with strikes. She avoided a Liger Bomb and countered another attack. Paxley then hit a Spinning Wheel Kick before finishing Yim with Cemetery Drive. Jade Cargill and B-FAB attacked afterward. Paxley escaped as Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss celebrated.
Finn Balor vs GUNTHER vs Kevin Owens (WWE Undisputed Men’s Championship #1 Contender’s Match)
Finn Balor, GUNTHER, and Kevin Owens battled for a title shot. The match featured several fast exchanges and big strikes. GUNTHER controlled both opponents with powerful chops and submissions. Owens answered with superkicks and lariats. Balor also hit the Coup de Grace but could not secure the win. Sami Zayn then interfered and attacked referee Dan Engler. Zayn also stopped another referee from counting. CM Punk arrived and fought Sami at ringside. Zayn later attacked Owens, Balor, GUNTHER, and Punk with the championship belt. The match ended in a no-contest. Sami stood tall holding the title.
