Kendal Grey Celebrates Title Win
New NXT Women’s Champion Kendal Grey admitted she was more nervous speaking than wrestling. She said she had struggled with self-doubt since joining NXT despite dominating in high school, college, and Evolve. Grey credited being selected for Iron Survivor as the start of her rise and said winning the title proved she belongs.
She added that she may not look or sound like a typical champion, but she will prove herself in the ring. Wren Sinclair interrupted with a cake to celebrate their recent title wins. Kelani Jordan then confronted them and demanded a title shot before Tatum Paxley attacked her from behind, sparking a backstage brawl.
El Hijo del Dr. Wagner, Jr. & Galeno vs Swipe Right (c) (Men’s Tag Team Championship)
Swipe Right retained the NXT Men’s Tag Team Championship after defeating El Hijo del Dr. Wagner Jr. and Galeno. The challengers started strong, with Wagner taking both champions out with a tope con giro before the break.
Back in the ring, Galeno dominated with power offense. But Swipe Right stayed in the match through quick tags and timely interference from Jackson Drake. Wagner nearly turned the tide, but Ricky Smokes caught him with a cheap shot. Swipe Right then hit their inverted DDT and double stomp combination on Wagner to secure the pinfall and keep the tag titles.
Jackson Drake vs Mason Rook
Jackson Drake picked up a controversial win over Mason Rook after outside interference. Rook controlled the early stages with his power and came close to victory several times, while Drake answered with quick offense and near falls. Swipe Right’s Brad Baylor and Ricky Smokes, along with Myka Lockwood, got involved late in the match.
Lockwood distracted the referee, allowing Drake to hit a lungblower and use extra leverage for the pin. After the match, Rook fought back by taking out Baylor with a lariat and sending Ricky Smokes crashing into him with Blu-Ray, standing tall despite the loss.
EK Prosper vs Keanu Carver
EK Prosper pulled off a big win over Keanu Carver after outside interference changed the match. Prosper stayed in the fight with quick strikes and high-flying offense. After the break, Carver regained control until Prosper countered with a Stunner and mounted a comeback.
As Carver looked set to finish the match, Tank Ledger appeared and threw him through the LED barricades while the referee was distracted. Carver barely made it back into the ring before Prosper caught him with a Busaiku knee and finished him with a diving moonsault for the victory.
Naraku Brutally Attacks Tony D’Angelo
Tony D’Angelo addressed the crowd after retaining his championship, revealing he feared losing sight in his right eye after last week’s attack. He said he had to sign medical waivers before competing at Great American Bash but never considered backing down. D’Angelo explained that he fought through the pain because defending his title meant everything to him.
Confident that his eye would fully recover, he warned any future challenger that they would have to do everything possible to take the championship from him. As he left, Naraku ambushed him from behind with a steel chair, then hit an STO onto the chair, leaving the champion bloodied as officials rushed to help.
Kelani Jordan vs Tatum Paxley
Kelani Jordan defeated Tatum Paxley in a hard-fought match. Tatum controlled parts of the match with power moves and targeted Jordan throughout, while Kelani answered with quick strikes and athletic counters. During the match, Kali Armstrong attacked NXT Women’s Champion Kendal Grey at the commentary table, creating a distraction.
Back in the ring, Jordan focused on Paxley’s injured ankle to gain the advantage. He then landed an Olympic Slam on Paxley. After that, Kelani climbed to the top rope and finished the match with her split-legged moonsault to earn the pinfall victory.
