English legendary bowler James Anderson has recently announced retirement from international cricket.
The 41-year-old is, however, skeptical about his career afterward and even considered consulting a career guru at his daughter’s school.
Speaking on The Tailenders’ podcast, the seamer opened up about the uncertainty that he feels, given that he has to pick something else to do after retiring from a long 20-year-old career.
“It’s a weird feeling when you’ve done something for 20 years and then all of a sudden you’ve got to find something else to do. We went to see a school for my eldest daughter the other day. There was a careers adviser there and I did wonder about asking him some questions.”
The player, though, wants to stick around the sport, thinking about doing some coaching and some punditry on TV.
“I honestly don’t know what will happen next. I love talking about the game. I love talking about bowling and delving into the technical side of it. I’ve done a bit of punditry on TV and on the radio, so I will maybe balance that and a bit of coaching.”
James Anderson Has a Milestone in Front
Anderson will be wearing England’s white jersey at Lords when they meet West Indies on July 10. The legend of the sport has a unique achievement on the way if he manages to take down Shane Warne’s 708-wicket record in Tests. With 700 wickets in his pockets already, he could walk past the late Australian legend, with Sri Lankan maestro Muthayya Muraleedharan being the only one ahead with a monumental 800 wickets.
