IPL 2024 Opening Ceremony Time: The IPL 2024 season is set to kick off at 8.00 PM IST on Friday at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, which is also known as Chepauk, in Chennai.
Defending champions CSK, who will now be led by new skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad, will be hosting Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli’s RCB in the opening game of the season. This year’s tournament is the 17th edition of the IPL.

The IPL 2024 opening ceremony at Chepauk is scheduled for 6.30 PM IST. It will be a 30-minute event where a couple of famous Bollywood actors and singers will perform live in front of the audience.
Who will Perform At IPL 2024 Opening Ceremony:
According to a report in the Hindustan Times, actors Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff will put on a dance performance, while legendary singers AR Rahman and Sonu Nigam will sing a few patriotic and Hindi songs.
Further, the BCCI has invited world-renowned Swedish DJ, DJ Axwell for a mid-innings show during the CSK vs RCB match.
There is also an additional Augmented Reality tech display planned. A source told Hindustan Times,
“Besides the musical act, there will also be a never-before-seen AR (Augmented Reality) technology display that’s also a highlight of the opening ceremony.”

The television audience can watch the IPL 2024 opening ceremony on Star Sports. Digital users will have to LIVE stream the ceremony and the IPL matches on the Jio Cinema website and app.
While there are some big names to perform at the opening ceremony, no doubt the two biggest names on the field tonight will be MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli. Dhoni has relinquished his CSK captaincy and handed it over to Gaikwad. Kohli is coming off a two-month break and will look to hit the ground running for RCB.
