Sunil Narine To Play 500th T20 Match: Sunil Narine will reach a massive milestone in his career as he will be starring in his 500th T20 match when he takes the field for Kolkata Knight Riders.
KKR is set to take on Royal Challengers Bengaluru tonight in the latter’s home ground of M Chinnaswamy Stadium. One of the stars of the Knight Riders side will be all-rounder Sunil Narine, who will be playing his 500th T20.
Narine joined the KKR roster in 2012 and has since become a franchise legend. With 164 IPL wickets, he is the eighth-highest wicket-taker in league history and third-highest overseas player.

Sometime around 2018, he evolved from a tail-end batter to an opener and a genuine all-rounder. Sunil Narine is now a crucial part of the KKR setup. Not only did he play major roles in the team’s IPL wins in 2012 and 2014, but also in the side’s surprise run to the final in 2021.
Sunil Narine To Play 500th T20 Match
In the 499 T20s Narine has played across the world for sides like the West Indies national team, Sydney Sixes, Quetta Gladiators, Trinidad and Tobago, Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, New York Strikers and many more, he has taken a whopping 536 wickets and is third overall in the list of highest wicket-takers in the format behind Dwayne Bravo and Rashid Khan.
When he will play his 500th game tonight, he will become only the fourth player to reach the milestone in T20 cricket. Keiron Pollard has played the most T20s of all with 660. Second on the list is Dwayne Bravo with 573, and the third is Pakistan’s Shoaib Malik with 542.
Some more impressive records about his bowling, he has bowled the most maiden overs in men’s T20 cricket with 30, including one in a Super Over in the 2014 Caribbean Premier League for Guyana Amazon. He also has the best economy in death overs for any bowler with 600 or more balls in those overs in T20 cricket.
An absolute legend of the game, Sunil Narine is a future Hall of Famer and will be remembered long after his career is over. As for now, he will be looking forward to Kolata Knight Riders’ upcoming match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2024.
