Wayne Rooney was admitted as the club’s manager in October 2023. The club’s position on the championship table at that time was 6th. After an 83-day run, he was axed from the position as the club had fallen to 20th, securing just 10 points out of the possible 45.

Similar to the Birmingham fans, the BBC didn’t take this well. As Rooney stepped down from the managerial position, the BBC’s Twitter handle posted a hilarious troll with the caption, ‘The plan failed’.
