Barcelona Targeting Replacement For Lewandowski: FC Barcelona are reportedly looking to bring in some attacking backup in the winter transfer window as the Spanish giants have been linked to forward Vangelis Pavlidis from AZ Alkmaar in the Dutch Eredivisie.

Robert Lewandowski has been in fine form ever since joining Barcelona at the start of the 2022-23 season. But this season., the 35-year-old has come under fire for putting up some poor performances. Signed with the club till 2026, it is unlikely that he can lead an attacking line throughout the season in what are the twilight years of his career.
Pavlidis, who was bought by Alkmaar for just 2.5 million Euros in 2021, has been on fire this season. The Greek striker has scored 18 goals in 16 Eredivisie appearances.

With Lewandowski also linked to a move to Saudi Arabia, Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo has reported that the Catalan club is looking to sign Pavlidis for a 25 million Euro transfer fee. While there is no official word on this deal as of yet, it wouldn’t be very difficult for Barca to sign a player they are pursuing.

While Ferran Torres is already looking to become the team’s premier striker, Athletico Madrid loanee Joao Felix, who could be signed permanently in the summer transfer window, is has also been rejuvenating himself in the Blaugrana.
