EW star Adam Copeland has shared his honest thoughts about Roman Reigns. Speaking on The Ariel Helwani Show, Copeland was asked whether he thought Reigns was overrated. The question came after podcast host Conrad Thompson sparked controversy by calling Reigns overrated.
Copeland said he loved working with Reigns. He called it an easy day at the office whenever they had a match. He said Reigns was easy to work with and fun to work with. He also said he thinks Reigns found the voice of his character and found something he fully connected with.

Copeland said AEW was never the roadblock. He said he truly believes Tony Khan would have been okay with it because he knows what it would have meant to wrestling fans. But he assumed WWE would not agree. He said having been there long enough and knowing how the mindset is there, he realized it was not going to happen.
The possibility never reached the negotiation stage. In November 2025, Tony Khan told Ariel Helwani that WWE never contacted AEW about bringing Copeland in for Cena’s farewell.
