WWE SmackDown Highlights
Cody Rhodes Promises Payback Against Randy Orton
Cody Rhodes opened the show by addressing his Last Man Standing match against Randy Orton at Crown Jewel. He admitted it would be his first match under those rules but said the concept was simple. Rhodes then apologised to Orton’s family and fans, warning them about what was coming. He showed a picture of himself after WrestleMania, when Orton hit him with a punt kick following his title match victory. Rhodes said Orton’s past attacks were about to catch up with him and promised to deliver payback. He declared that he would be the last man standing and earn a WWE Championship opportunity against either Trick Williams or Sami Zayn.
Chelsea Green (c) vs Nikki Bella for the WWE Women’s Championship
Chelsea Green defeated Nikki Bella to retain the WWE Women’s Championship after a competitive match. Bella hit the Rack Attack and nearly won, but Green reached the bottom rope to break the pin. The champion later caught Bella with a roll-up to secure the three-count. After the match, Liv Morgan confronted Green and called her an undeserving champion before promising to beat her at Crown Jewel. Tiffany Stratton then arrived, but Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez attacked her. Green hit Liv with the Un-Pretty-Her, and Stratton attempted to cash in her contract. Judgment Day stopped her, but IYO SKY ran in to help and chased them away.
AAA Cruiserweight Championship: Rey Fenix (c) vs Ricky Saints
Rey Fenix defeated Ricky Saints to retain the AAA Cruiserweight Championship in a hard-fought match. Fenix started strongly with a springboard armdrag and a suicide dive, but Saints later took control by throwing him over the announce table. Saints hit a superplex into an avalanche Jackhammer and later connected with a Death Valley Driver, but Fenix kicked out of both pin attempts. Fenix answered with multiple cutters, though Saints survived another close fall. After blocking Saints’ Revolution DDT attempt, Fenix landed a Shotei and followed with a Mexican Muscle Buster. He secured the three-count to keep his championship.
Jade Cargill vs Tatum Paxley
Jade Cargill defeated Tatum Paxley by pinfall after a competitive match. Paxley started aggressively with a leaping choke and an enzuigiri before following up with several corner attacks. Cargill responded with powerful strikes and controlled much of the early action. After the break, Paxley mounted a comeback with kicks, a rolling strike to the back of Cargill’s neck, and a spinning wheel kick. However, B-Fab interfered, leading to a fight involving Alexa Bliss and Michin at ringside. Cargill took advantage of the distraction, hitting a pump kick followed by Jaded to secure the victory.
Demon Finn Bálor Returns to Attack Gunther
Danhausen unveiled his Halloween experiment, but Gunther interrupted by powerbombing him through a table. The Ring General continued attacking Danhausen until the lights went out and the Cloning Machine revealed several Minihausens. Gunther took down most of them, throwing pumpkins and powerbombing one through a table. He then trapped Danhausen in a sleeper hold, but the lights went out again after Danhausen delivered a curse. Demon Finn Bálor emerged from the stage and attacked Gunther with Sling Blades and a neckbreaker. Bálor later hit a dropkick that sent Gunther through a table before launching a Coup de Grâce from a ladder through the announce table. Danhausen joined the Demon to celebrate his experiment’s success.
WWE Championship: Sami Zayn (c) vs Trick Williams
Sami Zayn retained the WWE Championship after defeating Trick Williams in a match that ended under No Disqualification rules. Williams initially appeared to win by disqualification after Johnny Gargano interfered, but SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis restarted the match and banned everyone from ringside. Trick hit the Trick Shot early in the restarted contest, but Zayn kicked out. Both men exchanged finishers, and Zayn survived a Blue Thunder Bomb onto chairs and another Trick Shot. Williams then reached for the championship belt, but Zayn used the distraction to deliver a low blow and strike him with the title, securing the pinfall victory.
