In the quest for a death overs’ bowler, Jasprit Bumrah emerged as a valuable asset for Indian cricket. Through his participation in the Indian Premier League, Jasprit Bumrah showcased his talent and became a boon for the sport in the country. Hailing from Gujarat, this slender pacer has honed the skill of delivering precise yorkers while learning from the experienced Lasith Malinga during his time with the Mumbai Indians franchise. As a result, Jasprit Bumrah has become an indispensable asset for the Indian team in limited-overs cricket.

Since his debut, Jasprit Bumrah has been a formidable force in the domestic circuit, consistently troubling batsmen at the Ranji level. In the subsequent season, Jasprit Bumrah’s reputation skyrocketed as he made a remarkable impact on Test cricket, even in his debut year. His outstanding performances in England and Australia left everyone in awe, as he surpassed the record for the highest number of wickets taken by an Indian bowler in overseas Tests within a single year. IPL through the years

Among the numerous accomplishments of the IPL, one notable aspect is its role as a nurturing ground for emerging talent. What truly stood out amidst the chaos of the IPL was his reliability. Guided by the expertise of Lasith Malinga, a specialist in death bowling, Bumrah thrived. Although he had limited game time during his debut in the 2013 edition of the competition, he quickly established himself as a regular in the Mumbai Indians’ lineup in the subsequent seasons. By 2017, Jasprit Bumrah had firmly established himself as the go-to bowler for his team, surpassing even the experienced Malinga. This was evident when he was entrusted with the crucial responsibility of bowling a Super Over against the Gujarat Lions.

Jasprit Bumrah justified this decision by successfully defending 12 runs against formidable batsmen like Brendon McCullum and Aaron Finch. His match-winning spell of 3/7 in three overs during the second Qualifier against KKR propelled his team forward. Unsurprisingly, Jasprit Bumrah was among the three players retained by MI for the 2018 season. He proved his worth by emerging as the team’s leading wicket-taker, maintaining an impressive economy rate of under 7. This achievement marked the first time he had accomplished such a feat.
