Seth Rollins Sets Sights on Roman Reigns
Seth Rollins opened the show by saying his focus was winning back the World Heavyweight Championship from Roman Reigns at SummerSlam. He reflected on his career, claiming Roman was always treated as WWE’s chosen star, while he had to earn everything through hard work. Rollins said beating Reigns was about proving his own worth.
LA Knight interrupted, criticizing Rollins for receiving a title shot without earning it and mocking his rivalry with Roman. Rollins praised Knight’s work ethic but insisted his own title pursuit came first. After Rollins left, Big Jim Uso attacked Knight from behind with a superkick, ending the confrontation.
Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford) (c) vs the Vision (Austin Theory & Bron Breakker) (World Tag Team Championship)
The Vision defeated the Street Profits to win the WWE Men’s World Tag Team Championship. Montez Ford and Angelo Dawkins matched Austin Theory and Bron Breakker throughout the contest. Logan Paul tried to interfere by sliding brass knuckles into the ring, but the referee stopped him. He then slipped in a second pair, but Dawkins intercepted them before Breakker could use them.
As the action broke down, Maxxine Dupri shocked everyone by attacking Dawkins with a low blow from behind. Theory immediately capitalized and pinned Dawkins to capture the tag team titles. After the match, Dupri celebrated by kissing Theory.
Raquel Rodriguez vs Sol Ruca (c) (WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship)
Sol Ruca retained the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship by defeating Raquel Rodriguez in a competitive title match. Rodriguez used her power to control much of the contest, while Ruca answered with her athletic offense and several near falls. Late in the match, Roxanne Perez distracted the referee, allowing Liv Morgan to interfere and stop Ruca’s attack. Iyo Sky quickly ran to ringside, taking out both Perez and Morgan. Ruca then regained control and finished Rodriguez with the Sol Snatcher. She successfully retain her championship.
Oba Femi and Paul Heyman Trade Heated Words
Paul Heyman addressed the crowd on behalf of Brock Lesnar. He warned Oba Femi that accepting a Hell in a Cell match was the biggest mistake of his career. He claimed Lesnar would destroy Femi inside the structure. He reminded everyone of Brock’s success in WWE and UFC.
Oba interrupted, saying his constant insults had forced Lesnar to respond, proving he had gotten under Brock’s skin. He accused Heyman of doing damage control because Lesnar was worried. Femi promised to defeat Lesnar in front of his family at SummerSlam, declaring that he would walk through hell to reach the top.
Chad Gable & Dragon Lee vs Ethan Page & Rusev
Ethan Page and Rusev defeated Chad Gable and Dragon Lee after Rusev forced Lee to submit with the Accolade. Gable briefly took control with German suplexes and an ankle lock. Lee sparked a comeback with quick offense and a Tree of Woe double stomp.
Rusev broke up the momentum, hit a Machka Kick, and locked in the Accolade for the victory. After the match, Rusev refused to release the hold and also attacked Gable. Joe Hendry ran in to make the save, but Page and Rusev overwhelmed him as well. Officials finally separated everyone after another Accolade attack.
CM Punk vs Sami Zayn (c) (WWE Undisputed Men’s Championship)
CM Punk defeated Sami Zayn to win the WWE Undisputed Men’s Championship in front of his hometown crowd. The two traded control throughout the match, with Zayn hitting the Blue Thunder Driver, two Go to Sleeps, and nearly scoring the win several times. Punk answered with the Pepsi Twist, an Anaconda Vise, and a diving elbow.
After a hard-hitting exchange, Punk avoided the Helluva Kick and hit one of his own. He then lifted Zayn onto his shoulders and connected with the Go to Sleep for the pinfall, capturing the WWE Undisputed Men’s Championship. Afterward, Punk celebrated with the title as he exited through the crowd.
