Prince Yadav Personal Life
Prince Yadav comes from a small village near Najafgarh in Delhi called Dariyapur Khurd. He grew up in a normal family where his father worked in the railways and later took up farming after retirement. His sister became a government school teacher, and his family initially wanted him to follow a safe job path. But Prince was never interested in studies and spent most of his time playing cricket in village fields.
He started with tennis-ball cricket when he was very young. Until around 17, he had never even used a leather cricket ball. He used to skip school and play tennis-ball matches in nearby villages, and slowly became known in local tournaments. At first, he even paid his own money to play, but later he started earning from it as he travelled to different cities for matches.
His father was strongly against his cricket dream in the beginning and wanted him to focus on exams and a stable career. The turning point came when people like Lalit Yadav noticed his bowling and encouraged him to join proper coaching in Najafgarh.
Prince says tennis-ball cricket shaped his bowling style. He mainly learned to bowl yorkers because that was the only effective option in that format. He could bowl multiple yorkers in an over even before formal training. Later, when he moved to leather-ball cricket, he had to learn swing, seam, and length bowling from coaches like Pradeep Sangwan.
He also credits tennis-ball cricket for improving his arm speed and power, which helps him bowl faster hard-length deliveries in professional cricket today. His skill with yorkers has remained his biggest strength, and all his IPL wickets so far have come from that delivery, including big wickets like Travis Head.
In his early IPL chances, he did not have a perfect season but learned a lot from senior players and coaches like Zaheer Khan. Over time, he has also earned more respect at home, and he says his biggest happiness is now seeing his father proud when people recognize him as “Prince’s father.”
