Al-Nassr Target Kim Min-jae From Bayern: Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr have opened talks with Bayern Munich over a potential transfer for South Korea international Kim Min-jae, as the Saudi club intensifies its efforts to strengthen ahead of the new Saudi Pro League season.
Al-Nassr Target Kim Min-jae From Bayern
According to Foot Mercato, the Riyadh-based side is keen to secure the centre-back’s signature this summer, viewing him as a natural replacement for Aymeric Laporte, whose future at Al-Awwal Park remains uncertain after an underwhelming campaign.
Kim joined Bayern last summer in a €50 million move from Napoli after a standout year in Serie A, where his imperious form helped deliver a historic Scudetto. Yet, with the recent arrival of Jonathan Tah from Bayer Leverkusen, the 28-year-old now faces added competition for a starting role under Vincent Kompany.
Al-Nassr see an opportunity, and crucially, so might Kim. Reports suggest the player is open to the switch, enticed by the prospect of regular minutes and a starring role in a league that continues to attract elite European talent. For Al-Nassr, it’s a bid not only to plug defensive frailties but to inject proven European pedigree into a squad aiming to wrest back domestic dominance.
While negotiations are still in progress and no fee has been agreed, both clubs appear receptive. Bayern are reportedly willing to listen to offers, and the timing could work for all parties.
Kim’s potential arrival would be another signal of the Saudi league’s ambition. His experience across Serie A, the Bundesliga, and international football fits Al-Nassr’s profile: players with stature, steel, and the CV to command dressing-room respect.
The Saudi side, currently in pre-season and set to face Almeria in Spain this Sunday, will return home for a Super Cup showdown against Al-Ittihad on August 19.
