The Indian Cricket Team has been bowled out for 180 runs on Day One of the ongoing Australia vs India 2nd BGT Test. After that, the home team has batted well and has taken advantage in this game.
India is facing Australia in the second Test of the five-game Border-Gavaskar Trophy. This match is being played in the Adelaide Oval and is a day/night match being played with the pink ball, which tends to generate a lot of movement on the first couple of days of play.
India won the first Test of this series in Perth by 295 runs. There has been a 10-day break between the first and second matches of this series.

Rohit Sharma, who missed the first game due to the birth of his child, has returned to the team for this match as the captain. He won the toss before the start of the day’s play and decided to bat first.
This immediately looked like the wrong decision, as an in-form opener, Yashasvi Jaiswal, who scored a ton in the last match, got out for a golden duck to Mitchell Starc on the first ball of the day. The ball pitched in the line of leg stump and swung in towards the wicket, catching the batter with his pads in front of the wicket.
KL Rahul and Shubman Gill then looked to stabilise the inning. Even though KL looked to be struggling, even edging the ball twice in the eighth over only to be saved by a no-ball and a dropped catch. In the 19th over of the inning, with the team score being at 69, Rahul was finally dismissed for 37 as in walked Virat Kohli.

However, Kohli, despite scoring a century in the previous game, was dismissed fairly cheaply as he became Starc’s third wicket on the day. The Men in Blue were at 77/3, and it was about to get worse; Shubman Gill was caught before the wickets in the very next over by Scott Boland. India went into lunch at 82/4, with Rishabh Pant and captain Sharma at the strike.
Rohit, who came down to bat at No. 6, was dismissed a couple of overs after the break, being lbw by Boland as well. Soon after, India reached the 100-run mark. But a couple of overs after that happened, Pant became Aussie captain Pat Cummins’ first wicket of the day.
From here on, Nitish Kumar Reddy and Ravichandran Ashwin started taking the team to a respectable target. By the time Ashwin was caught before wicket by Mitchell Starc for a run-a-ball 22, the team score was 141/7.
Nitish Reddy continued to score runs as the Indian Cricket Team’s tail failed to score runs and just stood on strike. India was all out for 180 in 44.1 overs, with Reddy being their top scorer with 42 off 54. Mitchell Starc ended with the impressive figures of 6/48.
It was then Australia’s turn to bat as Usman Khawaja and NAthan McSweeney came out to bat. The two looked in trouble at the start, with first game’s Player of the Match Jasprit Bumrah coming close to take a wicket on several occasions. In the 11th over, he did dismiss Khawaja for 13.
But after that, for the next 22 overs, the match belonged to the Aussies, while India did threaten to take wickets here and there, especially Bumrah, McSweeney and MArnus Labuschagne defended well.
In the 33 overs Australia batted, their score was 86/1 as they only trail by 94 runs with nine wickets in hand. Suffice it to say that the Kangaroos are now on top in this second India vs Australia Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
