Yashasvi Jaiswal Gets Out For A Golden Duck: Indian opening batter Yashasvi Jaiswal got out for a golden duck on the first ball of the second Australia vs India Test match by Mitchell Starc after scoring a massive ton in the previous game.
The second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy has started today at the Adelaide Oval. This is a day/night Test match and thus is being played with the pink ball.
The Man in Blue won the first match of the series in mega fashion. While incumbent captain Jasprit Bumrah was the Player of the Match for his eight wickets and fiery spells across two innings, India dominated with the bat as well, with Jaiswal scoring 161 and Virat Kohli scoring a century in the third inning in Perth.
With a 10-day break between the first and second match of the series, regular captain Rohit Sharma got the chance to rejoin the team after missing the first Test due to the birth of his child. Shubman Gill and Ravichandran Ashwin made it to the playing XI as well, while Devdutt Padikkal, Dhruv Jurel, and Washington Sundar are out of the second India vs Australia Test.
Rohit Sharma won the toss for India and decided to bat first on a challenging pitch in Adelaide. For their pink ball Tests, the Aussies like to keep a little grass on the pitch, allowing the ball to seam early.
Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul came out to open, just like the last match, as Rohit Sharma pushed himself down the order.
Yashasvi came out to face the first delivery of the match, bowled by Mitchell Starc. The ball was at the fuller end and pitched just in line with the leg stump. It seemed inwards and struck the batter’s pads. As the Aussies appealed, the umpire raised his finger.
Jaiswal consulted with Rahul at the other end but decided not to take a review and walk back to the pavilion without troubling the score, with India being 0-1 on the first ball of Day One.

Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a duck in the first inning of the first match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy as well, before going on to score 161 in the second and snatch the game out of the home side’s reach. But unlike that dismissal, this time, the 22-year-old was completely bamboozled by the legendary pacer.
