The contest is being played at the Dubai International Stadium and saw Pakistan U-19 win the toss and decide to bat first. The Boys in Green have gotten off to a fantastic start, with openers Usman Khan and Shahzaib Khan batting together for 160 runs before Usman was the first to be dismissed.
The Indian U-19 team is full of fresh faces, with no players in today’s XI being in the final of the 2024 U-19 World Cup, a match that India lost to the Australia U-19 team.
Perhaps the most talked about name on the India side is the 13-year-old opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who made headlines recently when he was bought by the Rajasthan Royal for Rs. 1.10 crore in the IPL 2025 mega auction.
Coming back to the match, Pakistan lost their second wicket soon after the first one, as Haroon Arshad became the second wicket of the off-bowling all-rounder Ayush Mhatre.

Mohammad Riaz Ullah then came to strike and built a decent partnership with Shahzaib Khan, who had now scored a ton. The two batted together for the next 11 overs until the 43rd over of the 50-over inning when Ullah was dismissed by the team’s star pacer, Samarth Nagaraj.
It seems that the Pakistan U-19 team was adamant on losing wickets in pairs, as right on the next ball the incoming Farhan Yousaf got out for a golden duck. The collapse is in full swing now as Faham Ul-Haq was dismissed soon after for just four runs, making this pair a triplet.
It is clear that Shahzaib is the saviour of his team today, as he now aims to take his side past the 300-run mark. The score is currently 253/5 in 46 overs
India U-19 is in Group A of the ACC U-19 Asia Cup 2024, along with Pakistan, Japan, and the UAE. Meanwhile, Group B consists of Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Nepal, making it much more competitive. Two teams from each group will make it to the semifinals.
