Coventry published a press release informing the news.
“Coventry City are delighted to announce the appointment of Frank Lampard as the Club’s new Head Coach. The 46-year-old has signed a two and a half year contract with the Sky Blues and will take charge of City for the first time this Saturday against Cardiff City at the Coventry Building Society Arena.
“Frank will be supported by two new coaches, Joe Edwards and Chris Jones, who he has worked with extensively previously. Lampard has enjoyed an illustrious career in football, both on and off the pitch.
Lampard started his managerial career in 2018 when he became the coach of Derby County. He took the County to the Championship Play-Off Final that year. This attracted his former club Chelsea, and he moved to Stamford Bridge in 2019 as their head coach.

Lampard bid adieu to the Blues in 2021 and became the Everton manager in January 2021. After a year, in January 2023, he left the job to again join Chelsea, and this time, as an interim manager just for the 2022-23 season.
