Vini had an incredible year with Real Madrid last season winning La Liga and a historic UEFA Champions League. The player who scored 24 goals and assisted 11 times in 39 matches across the season is the front-runner for the prestigious individual award in the football world.
But he has competition in his own team with the likes of Jude Bellingham. Bellingham also had an incredible season with Real Madrid. The Englishman also played the Euro 2024 semifinal for his country.
Another strong contender for Ballond’Or would be Manchester City and Spain midfielder Rodri. Rodri won the premier league with his club and was an integral part of Spain who was crowned as the European Champions last season.
Vinicius Jr Trained At the Residence of Ronaldo
Vinicius who is looking forward to winning the award revealed to CNN that that he was at the residence of another Brazilian Ballon dOr winner Ronaldo Nazario.
“I was with Ronaldo just now when I was in Ibiza and trained at his house and he told me: ‘Train here a few more days, so you are closer to the Ballon d’Or.’ They are players who did incredible things and to be able to compete for the Ballon d’Or and to win an award that they won, that would be something really incredible.”
“I have Kaká as an example, I have Ronaldo who won the award twice, I have Ronaldinho, Rivaldo, a lot of Brazilian players who have won the Ballon dOr. But without a doubt, Ronaldo and Ronaldinho are the ones I’m closest with, who tell me every day that I have to win the Ballon d’Or.”
