Sidhu admits that the Head-Abhishek combo has been ‘unstoppable’ for Sunrisers Hyderabad. But he refused to pick them when the discussion went to picking the best to open the innings. According to the Star Sports commentator, no opening pair comes close to Kolkata Knight Rider’s match starters Phil Salt and Sunil Narine.
“Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma have been unstoppable for Hyderabad, but I feel no opening pair comes close to Phil Salt and Sunil Narine. The two have dominated bowlers in most of the games.
Sidhu gives credit to KKR’s openers for their winning streaks. On the other hand, he also points to SRH’s terrible losses in the last two games. KKR sits superior to SRH on the point table as well. The Kolkata franchise is second behind the mighty Samson’s Rajasthan Royals with 12 points. SRH hangs at four, having 2 points less than them.
Narine and Salt are dominating attacks in the IPL, and the damage they are causing can’t be explained easily. KKR are doing well in the competition because their openers are contributing. SRH have failed in the last two games because Head and Abhishek couldn’t fire,” he said on Star Sports.
