In a heated moment among the Indian players, captain Shreyas Iyer and spinner Axar Patel were livid at Prince Yadav during the IND vs NZ 3rd T20I after the fast bowler fumbled a run-out opportunity.
The Indian cricket team clinched the India vs New Zealand T20I series on Tuesday, with a convincing victory in the 3rd T20I in Wellington, adding on to the wins in the previous two T20Is, which were much closer than the six-wicket triumph today.
In a run-chase of 199, Abhishek Sharma blasted a 35-ball century and ended up with 113 (38), and his opening partner Vaibhav Sooryavanshi cracked 45 runs off only 19 deliveries.
Together, the left-handed duo hammered 133 runs in 7 overs to effectively seal the chase.
With an unassailable 3-0 lead, Iyer and co. will be looking to clean sweep the Kiwis. What India would also be looking to do in the dressing room is to have some conversation with Prince about his activities after delivering a ball.
Shreyas Iyer And Axar Patel Get Angry On Prince Yadav In IND vs NZ 3rd T20I, VIDEO
Iyer and Axar poured out their anger on Prince during the last over of New Zealand’s innings in Wellington, with the senior pair unhappy with the bowler’s lack of presence.
On the first ball of the 20th over, Daryl Mitchell hit a delivery from Prince towards long-on, where Axar Patel ran in to collect the ball and fire in a throw as the New Zealand batters began running a second run.
Axar made a good throw to the bowler’s end. However, Prince wasn’t ready to collect the throw. He was indeed watching the batsmen.
Prince made a quick movement, trying to collect Axar’s throw, but fumbled the ball and managed to hit the stumps with his bare hands.
The pacer then made a gesture towards Axar, suggesting that the throw should have been at the wicket-keeper’s end, or perhaps that he thought the throw would be to Sanju Samson.
Prince’s gesture made Axar annoyed. With a livid expression, Axar gave Prince a mouthful, suggesting that the bowler’s end was the right end for his throw.
Replays also revealed captain Iyer’s angry reaction to Prince not being able to grab Axar’s throw and failing in his run-out attempt. The bowler didn’t react and started to walk towards his bowling mark.

Meanwhile, Iyer eulogized the explosive batting show displayed by Abhishek and Sooryavanshi in Wellington.
“Absolutely stunning. It was pleasing to the eyes the way they played strokes. It was simply mind-boggling. Honestly speaking, getting 100 in 5 overs, I’ve never seen that before, especially at the international level,” the Indian skipper said.
When is India vs New Zealand 4th T20I?
The 4th T20I of the IND vs NZ series will be played on October 30, Friday, in Auckland. The match is scheduled to start at 12:30 PM IST.
