Sanju Samson Shares Sweet Moment With Young Fan: Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson shared a heartwarming moment with a young fan after leading the team to a victory in their last league game in IPL 2025 against the Chennai Super Kings.
RR took on CSK in Match 62 of IPL 2025. This match, played at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, was the Royals’ last league game of the season. At the end of a disappointing season that saw them reeling in ninth place before this game, the Men in Pink took on the 10th-placed team, that being the Super Kings.
Rajasthan won the toss and decided to bowl first. Despite a few good batting performances, Chennai only managed to score 187 runs in 20 overs. In response, RR’s young opening duo of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi gave their team a great start.
Jaiswal scored 36 runs off 19, Suryavanshi made 57 off 33, and captain Samson made 41 off 31. Dhruv Jurel and Shimron Hetmyer finished the game off in style as RR won this match by six wickets with 17 balls to spare.
Following the match, there were several heartwarming moments. The one that got the headlines was 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi touching the feet of 43-year-old CSK captain MS Dhoni.

But there was another sweet moment, this one showing the impact these cricketers have on the next generation of this country. In a video shared on the Rajasthan Royals’ social media, Samson could be seen standing near the boundary rope minutes after the end of the match.
The video then shows a young fan in a CSK jersey calling out to Sanju. The RR captain then acknowledged the child and headed towards him. He then signed the young fan’s ticket, asking him whether he is a CSK or RR fan, to which the fan claimed both. Sanju even handed the kid his hat, to which the fan seemed awestruck.

This was RR’s last match of the season. They have finished this disappointing campaign with four wins, 10 losses, eight points, and a negative net run rate in 14 matches, putting them ninth on the points table. On the other hand, the 10th-placed CSK have one match in hand. But winning that might not be enough to pull them up from the bottom of the league table.
