Rohit Paudel is a Nepalese cricketer and the captain of Nepal’s national team. He made his List A debut in February 2018 and his ODI debut just before turning 16. In his third ODI, he became the youngest male batter to score a fifty at that time.
Paudel is Nepal’s all-time highest run-scorer in ODIs and the first Nepalese to reach 1,000 ODI runs. He became ODI captain in November 2022 at 20 years old, the second youngest in ODI history. Under his leadership, Nepal won 11 of 12 ODIs to qualify for the 2023 World Cup Qualifier and also secured T20 World Cup qualification for the first time since 2014.

Rohit Paudel made his Twenty20 debut for Nepal in the 2018 MCC Tri-Nation Series against the Marylebone Cricket Club on 29 July 2018. He made his ODI debut against the Netherlands on 3 August 2018, becoming the fourth-youngest male cricketer to play an ODI at 15 years and 335 days. On 26 January 2019, he became the youngest male cricketer to score an international half-century, making 55 runs against the UAE in his third ODI.
Paudel was the leading run-scorer for Nepal in the 2018 ACC Under-19 Asia Cup with 161 runs in three matches. He made his T20I debut against the UAE on 31 January 2019. In March 2022, he scored his first ODI century, making 126 runs against Papua New Guinea.
Under his captaincy, Nepal won the 2023 ACC Men’s Premier Cup, qualifying for the 2023 Asia Cup. He was also named captain for the 2023 Asian Games T20I team, the 2024 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup, and the 2026 T20I World Cup. He was awarded a central contract by the Cricket Association of Nepal in September 2020 and was the man of the series in the Canada Tour of Nepal in 2024.

Rohit Paudel Personal Life
Nepal captain Rohit Paudel says the team still needs more chances to play against top cricket nations. After their strong showing in the 2024 T20 World Cup, they’ve barely faced Full Member teams – only a series against West Indies in 2025. Paudel thinks regular matches against big teams would help Nepal test themselves and grow.
He points to how close Nepal came to beating South Africa in 2024 and England in 2026, saying those games boosted confidence.
