RCB captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and elected to bowl first. On what wasn’t an easy track to bat on initially, Quinton de Kock got going with three fours in the first over against Topley. He then took down Siraj with a couple of sixes before KL Rahul too joined in with two sixes of his own.
However, with the ball holding and turning a bit, Rahul top-edged Maxwell, and Siraj got rid of Padikkal with a short ball. De Kock and Stoinis formed an explosive partnership of 56 (30), but both of them were dismissed in quick succession, followed by Ayush Badoni’s wicket.
Nicholas Pooran gave LSG the grandstand finish they wanted. The West Indian clobbered 5 sixes and a four in his knock of 40* (21) to take his side to 181.

In the chase, Virat Kohli and Faf started well with an opening stand of 40 (26). However, once that was broken by M. Siddharth with Kohli’s wicket, soon followed by Faf’s runout, RCB slipped as they encountered Mayank Yadav.
The 21-year-old Mayank, who was Man of the Match on his debut, once again picked up a three-wicket haul. He bowled Cameron Green before bouncing out Glenn Maxwell and Rajat Patidar; all three excellent batters of pace bowling were rattled by Mayank’s high pace. Mayank recorded a high speed of 156.7 KPH.
Mahipal Lomror gave a fight for RCB with the bat. The left-hander smoked three sixes and as many fours in his 33 (13), but the required run rate pressure was too much, and he too gave in, eventually. RCB couldn’t last the entire 20 overs and were bowled out for 153.
Score summary: Lucknow Super Giants 181/5 in 20 overs (Quinton de Kock 81, Glenn Maxwell 2/23); Royal Challengers Bengaluru 153/10 in 19.4 overs (Mahipal Lomror 33, Mayank Yadav 3/14). LSG defeated RCB by 29 runs.
