Prasidh Krishna is one of the best domestic cricket pacers in India of the last years and has been on the edge of the Indian Cricket Team for a few years. IT now seems he is set to become a regular part of the Men in Blue squad under coach Gautam Gambhir. Many are still conflicted about Krishna’s place on the side, with many believing he is a little too inconsistent to be a proper threat at the top level. But it is hard to deny his sheer ability with the leather in hand.
Krishna, at a height of 6-foot-3, can generate sheer bounce off any pitch, unlike any other top-level bowler in India. And with him showing that he can be a wicket-taking machine at this year’s IPL, it seems that the Karnataka-based fast-bowler is finally reaching the top of his game.

Prasidh Krishna Career Overview
Born on February 19, 1996, in Bengaluru, Muralikrishna Prasidh Krishna hails from one of India’s major cricket hubs, Karnataka. He made his first-class debut in 2015, at the age of 19, against Bangladesh A, taking a fifer on his debut. Soon, he would become a frontline pacer for Karnataka across all formats.
In 2018, he was picked by the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL. While he wasn’t picked in the auction and was instead brought in as a replacement for an injured Kamlesh Nagarkoti, he impressed in his first season in the league, taking 10 wickets in seven games. Later that year, he would be a part of the Indian U-23 squad for the 2018 ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup.
While Prasidh’s next two seasons in the IPL were nothing to brag about, he did emerge as one of the best domestic Indian pacers in the Covid era. His ability to extract bounce from any pitch, combined with his solid accuracy, made him a future prospect just before he was about to enter his physical prime. However, during this time, he also showed that he is prone to injuries.
Prasidh Krishna made his Indian Cricket Team debut during the first match of a March 2021 ODI series against England in Pune. He took four wickets on his debut as India won the match by 66 runs. He was a part of the squad for a few Test matches, but did not play. His next international cricket action came in 2022, where he played in the third and final ODI against South Africa and took three wickets. The next month, he took nine wickets in three ODIs against the West Indies and was named the Player of the Series. He became a regular in the format over the next year.
Around this time, Krishna’s injuries flared up. He would end up missing two whole seasons of the IPL for the Rajasthan Royals in 2023 and 2024. While not a part of the Indian Cricket Team for the 2023 ODI World Cup, he would end up joining the squad as an injury replacement for Hardik Pandya, but did not play as India would finish as the runner-up.
The lanky pacer would also play five T20Is for India in 2023. His final one against Australia in November would see him concede 68 runs in four overs without taking a wicket, which is the worst spell by an Indian in T20Is. HE also made his Test debut in December 2023, playing two Tests in South Africa, taking one wicket each in both. He also played the fifth and final Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024/25, taking three wickets in both innings as India ended up losing the match and the series.
Prasidh Krishna made a scintillating return to the IPL in 2025 after missing two seasons. Now playing for the Gujarat Titans. He played a massive role in GT’s dominant league stage run in the competition, taking 25 wickets in 15 matches and finishing as the Purple Cap winner.
His awesome performances in IPL 2025 were partly the reason behind his becoming a starting bowler for much of the recently concluded five-Test Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy in 2025 against England. He played three Tests in this series. In the first Test in Leeds, he took five wickets across two innings but bled runs like a limited-overs game. Then, in the second Test, he took just one wicket and was still not economical, especially in the first inning.
Krishna returned to the Indian Cricket Team playing 11 for the fifth Test, and actually played a big role in India winning the match and drawing the series. He bowled intelligently and accurately. His eight wickets across two innings raised his stock among fans and experts again.
