According to Navjot Singh Sidhu, though Ruturaj tops CSK’s run-scorers this season, the abundance of talent in the top order might hinder his way to the national side. Dube, on the other hand, might get a seat for the ultimate T20 tournament, as the middle-order still may have a vacant seat for him.
“There are a lot of opening options available for the Indian team. Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, and Virat Kohli can play as openers. There is no place in that slot. Ruturaj also bats at number 3, but even that place is full. So, Ruturaj has no chance of being a part of the squad until some injuries occur, Sidhu said on Star Sports.
“Shivam Dube will travel with the team. He has broken down the doors of the selectors with his performances. A batter like him at the No. 4 or 5 spots can win you games. He is unstoppable in this IPL, and he hits the bowlers into the stands. He will surely make it to the final fifteen,’ he added.
