Popular celebrity hairstylist Aalim Hakim shared a picture of Dhoni’s new hairstyle on Instagram last October. The picture showed Mahi rock longer hair with streaks, a real 80s star look.
The longer hair got his fans excited, with some reminiscing about his iconic look from the early parts of his career when a young Dhoni had shoulder-length hair. That particular style was even praised by the then leader of Paistan Parvaiz Musharraf in 2006.

In a recent interview, the Chennai Super Kings captain revealed the chore it is to keep such hair, claiming that he now takes north of an hour when get ready for ads and shoots, whereas earlier it used to take him just 20 minutes.
But in the same breath, he also revealed that it is the fans and their appreciation that is the reason behind him keeping this hairstyle for now.

“Maintaining this hairstyle is very difficult. Earlier, I used to get ready in 20 minutes, now it takes 1 hour 10 minutes. I am doing it because fans are liking it, but someday I wake up and decide it’s enough, I’ll cut it down,”
MS Dhoni has had several iconic hairstyles throughout his career – from his straight locks from the start of his career to the mohawk in the mid-2010s, from his bald look from right after the 2011 World Cup win to his buzz and Viking cut from later in his career.
