MS Dhoni skipped handshakes with RCB players: RCB star Virat Kohli went to find MS Dhoni in the CSK dressing room as he didn’t get to shake hands with the CSK legend following the epic RCB vs CSK match at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday night.
In a virtual knockout match on Saturday night, RCB defeated CSK by 27 runs, qualified for the playoffs, and knocked CSK, the defending champions, out of the competition.
Dhoni, though, looked set to finish another game. With 17 runs needed for CSK to qualify for the playoffs in the last over, bowled by Yash Dayal, Dhoni smoked the pacer for a 110-meter six on the first ball.
But Dayal bounced back with a slower ball and deceived Dhoni, who holed out at deep square leg. Dayal closed out the game with three dots and a single in the last four balls against Thakur and Jadeja to send RCB into the playoffs and CSK out of the tournament. Dhoni was seen with a stunned look in the dugout as RCB celebrated.
After the match, MS Dhoni led CSK outside the dugout to shake hands with the RCB players. However, for reasons unknown, Dhoni left the queue and started walking toward the dressing room. On the way, he shook hands with the RCB support staff and went into the CSK dressing room.
Not long after, Virat Kohli was seen with a confused look in the dressing room. Soon, he went into the CSK dressing room. Fans hailed this bond between Kohli and Dhoni.

RCB posted 218 runs on the board, batting first. They needed to stop CSK from scoring 201 runs to qualify for the playoffs, while CSK needed to avoid losing by more than 18 runs. It came down to Dayal vs Dhoni, Shardul, and Jadeja, in which the left-arm pacer trumped.
RCB skipper Faf du Plessis said that until Dhoni was at the crease, he was scared.
Faf said,
“At one stage, with MS there, I thought, ‘Oh dear, he has done it so many times’. The way we bowled with the wet ball was unbelievable, we tried to change it.”
