The first Indian batsman to notch up an IPL ton was Manish Pandey, who achieved this feat in 2009 while batting for RCB against Deccan Chargers.
Across the 19 seasons of the IPL, 58 different batsmen have recorded at least a century in what is the biggest and most-watched T20 league in the world.
Of these 58 batsmen, 17 hit two centuries, one batsman made three centuries, four batters recorded four tons, and only one batsman each made five, six, seven, and eight hundreds.

1) Virat Kohli – 8
The only player in IPL history to play all 19 seasons for a single franchise, Virat Kohli remains the only batsman to slam 8 IPL centuries. Until the end of IPL 2015, Kohli hadn’t made a single IPL ton; in the last 11 years, he has eight to his name. Four of his IPL hundreds came during his historic 973-run IPL 2016 season.
Kohli’s eight IPL centuries have come against Gujarat Lions (twice), Rising Pune Supergiants, Kings XI Punjab, Kolkata Knight Riders, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Gujarat Titans, and Rajasthan Royals.
2) KL Rahul – 5
Having made his IPL debut in 2013, senior India batsman-keeper KL Rahul has featured in the IPL for five different franchises. Two of his centuries came for the Punjab Kings and Lucknow Super Giants each, and one came while batting for the Delhi Capitals.
Of KL Rahul’s five IPL hundreds, three have come against the Mumbai Indians, one against his former team RCB, and one against Gujarat Titans.
3) Sanju Samson – 5
Sanju Samson has finally hit his straps in international cricket in 2026. He carried that form into the IPL 2026 for his new franchise, Chennai Super Kings, and hammered his fourth IPL century, a sizzling knock of 115* against Delhi Capitals. Samson knocked another amazing ton against Mumbai Indians on April 23, in IPL 2026, to give CSK a massive victory.
Samson’s first three IPL centuries came when he was at Rajasthan Royals against Rising Pune Supergiant, SRH, and Punjab Kings in 2017, 2019, and 2021, respectively.
4) Shubman Gill – 4
Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill has quickly risen in the ranks. Gill made his IPL debut in 2018 for KKR, but his first IPL century came in 2023 while opening for Gujarat Titans against SRH.
He struck two more hundreds that year, versus RCB and MI, eventually finishing the season with the Orange Cap and 890 runs. Gill’s fourth IPL century happened in IPL 2024 against Chennai Super Kings.
