Both of these teams have very different cores. On one hand, the Mumbai Indians and their Indian core, predominantly a batting one. The likes of Rohit Sharma, Tilak Varma, Suryakumar Yadav, and Hardik Pandya form what is the core of this team. Throw in an Indian pacer like Jasprit Bumrah (who will not play in this match), too. As for Kolkata, they have a solid foreign all-rounder core. The likes of Sunil Narine, Andre Russell, and Moeen Ali are some of the biggest names on this side.
Captain Hardik Pandya returned to the side for the Indians in their second match of the season against the Titans. While he did not do too well with the bat, Pandya showed that he is one of the few genuine all-rounders in the league, as he did quite well with the ball, taking two wickets.
Meanwhile, captain Ajinkya Rahane is still playing a massive role for the Knight Riders. Before he was announced as the captain, not many people even had him in the probable playing XI for KKR this season. But the veteran batter is proving quite crucial for his team, as he has taken the responsibility of scoring quick runs up the order.
