The Athletic has reported that despite Mbappe’s desire to move to Madrid at the end of the season is strong, certain influential members of his entourage were underwhelmed by the offer put forward by Los Blancos.
The Paris Saint Germain striker has been open with his desire to move to Real Madrid for years now. A few days back, reports emerged that his move to the 15-time Champions League winners at the end of the 2023-24 season. But it now seems that it might not be the case.
Kylian Mbappe Real Madrid Transfer In Doubt
The reports claim that the offer Real Madrid made to Mbappe is less than what was offered a couple of years ago. The deal offered back then was an annual salary of 26 million Euros and a 130 million Euros signing bonus.
The 25-year-old’s current contract at PSG is for a whopping 75 million Euros per year. The Athletic’s report says that Madrid can in no way match that offer, but club president Florentino Perez believes that it would be enough to bring Mbappe in.
Suffice it to say, that Kylian Mbappe’s transfer saga is set to be the biggest news story for the next summer transfer window. Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti believes that the club has enough star power as is, but having arguably the best player in the world in your squad is not only a boon for the club on the field, but also brings in money and sponsorships. The ball of where Mbappe will end up after the season ends is now in his own court.
