While Mitchell Starc was a deadly menace for the Bangladeshi batsmen in the AUS vs BAN 2nd Test, he had an adorable and cute interview with his wife, Alyssa Healy, the former Australian women’s team captain who is now working with the broadcaster Fox Cricket.
After Australia lost the first Test in Darwin, Starc boosted his team’s drive to level the series in Mackay by blasting out more than half of the Bangladeshi batting lineup.
After Aussie skipper Pat Cummins won the toss and elected to bowl first on a greenish pitch in Mackay, Starc struck with the first ball of the match, becoming the first bowler in the history of Test cricket to claim a wicket on the first ball of a Test match four times.
The left-arm speedster went bang, bang, bang as he dismissed five of Bangladesh’s top six as the visitors were left reeling at 21/6, attaining a five-wicket haul in only 22 deliveries. Starc eventually finished with astounding bowling figures of 10-6-12-6, while Cummins picked up three wickets and Josh Hazlewood claimed one scalp.

As Australia walked back to the dressing room after bowling Bangladesh out for only 64, their fourth-lowest innings total in Tests, Starc caught up with his wife, Healy, who took the speedster’s interview.
Alyssa started off with a funny question, asking Starc,
“I paid for dinner last night. Does that mean it’s now your turn?”
The fast bowler had a witty reply: “You’re on bigger bucks than I am.” The couple shared a big, hearty laugh over Starc’s reply before Healy prompted Starc’s views on his performance in Bangladesh’s first innings coming on from the loss in Darwin.
Starc said, “Yeah, I mean, we clearly weren’t at our best last week. To get first use of that wicket, a lot of the Queenslanders here have said it’s a lot like the Gabba. So, yeah, to make first use of that in the first session, you can’t be too unhappy. Six in the first session, can’t beat that. Obviously a little bit of anger. It’s worked well so far, hopefully we can keep it up.”

Starc became Test cricket’s 10th highest wicket-taker, moving past Dale Steyn, who had 439 wickets and is now sitting on 441 scalps. Courtney Walsh is immediately ahead of Starc on the 9th spot with 519 wickets.
Bangladesh bowlers too made use of the conditions in Mackay. The visitors didn’t allow the hosts to pile on a huge lead, as left-arm seamer Shoriful Islam claimed figures of 6/35 in 11 overs, and by stumps on day 1, Australia are eight wickets down for 165, sleeping with a lead of 101 runs.
Starc, in the press conference, opined that the pitch is good and the credit should go to the bowlers for an 18-wicket day.
“People will see 18 wickets and say it’s a bad wicket. I think it’s a very good day one wicket. It’s probably going to quicken up again and once a bit of that hardness of the ball wears off, there’s less sideways (movement), but with the square that we’ve got here, it’s swung throughout the day. A pretty helter-skelter day of cricket, but I’d say some good bowling led to 18 wickets,” Starc reckoned.
