The ongoing T20I series between India and Afghanistan is not just about cricket. It is also bringing a big financial gain for the Afghanistan Cricket Board. Reports say the board is set to earn around ₹50 crore from the three matches. That is a major boost for them, even though their team has struggled on the field.

Afghanistan are the designated hosts for the series, which is being played in New Delhi. They came into the series with well-known players like Rashid Khan, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Ibrahim Zadran, and Gulbadin Naib. But India have been far too strong so far. Shreyas Iyer’s side has won the first two matches and leads the series 2-0. In one game, India chased down a target of 157 without even needing 14 overs. That shows how dominant they have been.

India’s bowling has also looked sharp. Jasprit Bumrah has returned and made an immediate impact. He has bowled with control and picked up wickets. Sanju Samson has been in great form with the bat as well. For Afghanistan, the results have been disappointing. They now face the threat of a whitewash if they lose the final T20I.

Still, the series has been valuable for Afghanistan in another way. The money they earn from playing India is far more than they would get from most other series. So even in defeat, there is a significant benefit. The final match will decide whether Afghanistan can avoid a clean sweep or whether India will finish the series with a perfect record.

Koh-e-Zafar Dinner Celebrates India-Afghanistan Cricket Friendship Ahead of Third T20I in Delhi

Ahead of the third T20I in Delhi, the Afghanistan Cricket Board hosted a special dinner for the Indian cricket team and BCCI officials. The event was called Koh-e-Zafar, which means “Peak of Success”. It was held to celebrate the long-standing cricketing friendship between the two nations.

The dinner was not just a social gathering. It was a way to honour the deep relationship between India and Afghanistan cricket. Players from both teams attended, along with top officials from the BCCI and ACB. A highlight of the evening was a photo session where players from both sides posed together with the T20 series trophy. This showed mutual respect and the shared joy of the sport.

India has played a big role in the development of Afghanistan cricket over the years. They have provided home grounds and other facilities to help the team grow. The Koh-e-Zafar dinner was a way for the Afghanistan Cricket Board to express their gratitude for that support. The presence of BCCI officials alongside ACB leadership showed the strength of the partnership between the two boards.

During the event, the Afghanistan Cricket Board presented mementos to the Indian players and BCCI officials. These tokens were given to recognise India’s contribution to world cricket and its specific support for Afghanistan. The exchange of gifts added a warm and formal touch to the evening.

Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan spoke highly of the Afghan players. He said his admiration goes beyond their talent on the field. He described them as exceptional human beings and talked about the personal bonds formed through cricket. Veteran Afghan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi expressed his love for playing in India. He called it a fantastic place for cricket and said he always enjoys his time there. He also credited the IPL for helping him improve and grow as a player.

While the dinner was a moment of friendship and celebration, the focus remains on the final T20I. India lead the three-match series 2-0. They will look to complete a clean sweep in Delhi. The dinner set a positive tone for the final match.
