Shimron Hetmyer has been named in West Indies’ 15-member squad for the five-match T20I series against India. The series begins in Lucknow on October 6. Hetmyer plays for Rajasthan Royals in the IPL. He earned his spot after strong performances in the Caribbean T20 league.
Hetmyer scored 367 runs from 12 innings in the tournament. His average was 45.87 and his strike rate was 197.31. He hit two centuries and 29 sixes. His first hundred was an unbeaten 111 off just 43 balls against Trinbago in Port of Spain. He followed that with 102 not out off 45 deliveries against Jamaica in Qualifier 2.
