Kerala Cricket League 2026 Schedule: The Kerala Cricket League (KCL) is the premier franchise cricket league in Kerala. The state is known for their achievements across sports. But the purpose of this league is to promote cricket in a part of the country not historically known for this sport.

The competition started back in 2024. After two successful seasons where Aries Kollam Sailors and Kochi Blue Tigers won the league, we now see the third season about to get underway.

How Many Teams Play In The Kerala Cricket League 2026?

Each of the six teams is mostly filled with players from the pool of domestic players in Kerala. However, there is also an outstation player rule, which allows for players not natively from the state, but playing there for some time, to compete in the Kerala Cricket League 2026.

Each team will have a squad of 16-20 and will compete in 10 games in the tournament phase in a double round-robin. They will have a budget of Rs. 50 lakh to build their squad. After the 30 group games, the top four finishing teams will go into a straight semi-final to final pipeline. So here are the six teams competing in the tournament this year

The Alleppey Tigers are the only team in this league to have not qualified for the knockouts in the last two seasons. They will be captained by wicketkeeper/batter Mohammed Azharuddin. Some familiar faces in the side include former Indian Cricket Team player Jalaj Saxena and domestic cricket standout Sachin Baby.

Next up is the Aries Kollam Sailors, who lifted the maiden Kerala Cricket League title in 2024. They also reached the final of the 2025 season, making them the most successful team in league history so far. The Kollam Sailors will be captained this year by Delhi-born and Kerala-based all-rounder Vathsal Govind.

Calicut Globsars is next. They reached the final of the inaugural 2024 season, only to lose to the Aries Kollam Sailors. They even made it to the semi-finals in their second season. The Globstars will be captained this season by experienced Kerala batters. Rohan S. Kunnummal. The player to watch out for from this team is regular IPL spinner, Vignesh Puthur.

The Kochi Blue Tigers are the defending KCL champions. They defeated the Aries Kollam Sailors in the final. Their captain possesses one of the most important surnames in Kerala cricket history. Saly Samson, the elder brother of Indian Cricket Team player Sanju Samson, leads this squad. The Blue Tigers also have a bunch of other high-profile players, like bowlers KM Asif and Basil Thampi.

The Thrissur Titans have made it to two KCL semi-finals, but have not taken the step of reaching the final yet. They will be captained by veteran bowler Akhil MS this season as they look to break the barrier and reach the final on their third attempt.

Lastly, the Trivandrum Royals, representing the capital city of the state of Kerala. They made it to the semi-finals in the 2024 season, and fell out of the playoffs with a fifth-placed finish in 2025. Their skipper this season will be batter Krishna Prasad. Some key players in this squad include batters Vishnu Vinod and Abhishek Nair.
