Liam Dawson is an English cricketer who plays for the England national team. He also plays for Hampshire and is a right-handed batter and a slow left-arm orthodox spin bowler. He made his England debut in July 2016 and later played in all three formats for England.

Dawson made his T20I debut on 5 July 2016 against Sri Lanka. He made his ODI debut on 4 September 2016 against Pakistan, scoring 10 runs and taking 2 wickets for 70 runs. Liam said he used to go to Bury matches regularly from around the age of seven to twelve, before he joined the Hampshire Academy. He remembers the club from the time when Stan Ternent was manager, with Dean Kiely as goalkeeper and David Pugh playing.

His dad, Andy, was actually born in Manchester, but later lived in the Swindon area for around three decades, which is where Liam was born.
