Mark Chapman is a cricketer who has represented both Hong Kong and New Zealand in limited-overs international cricket. He now plays for New Zealand. He is a left-handed batter and can also bowl part-time slow left-arm spin. His first ODI came for Hong Kong against the UAE on 16 November 2015 in the ICC World Cricket League Championship. He qualifies to play for New Zealand through his father, and in February 2018 he made his T20I and ODI debuts for New Zealand against England.
Chapman played his first first-class match on 17 December 2015 in the Plunket Shield. Because he holds citizenship of both Hong Kong and New Zealand, he is treated as a local player in domestic cricket. On 1 January 2018, he scored his maiden T20 century while playing for Auckland against Canterbury in the Super Smash.
Chapman scored 480 runs in eight matches for Auckland and was the leading run-scorer in the 2017–18 Ford Trophy. In June 2020, Auckland signed him on a contract for the 2020–21 season. During a Plunket Shield match that season, Chapman was replaced after feeling unwell, which led to Ben Lister becoming the first COVID-19 substitute used in a cricket match under ICC rules.
