Rajasthan Royals IPL 2026 Squad: The IPL 2026 auction has come to a rest, and we now have the full picture of how the Rajasthan Royals will shape up in the upcoming season of the biggest franchise cricket league in the world.
The Royals came into the auction with a small budget of Rs 16.05 crore, the fourth smallest in the league. This comes despite a horrendous 2025 season in which they finished ninth on the points table.
Complete Rajasthan Royals IPL 2026 Squad
First, we start with the players they retained and traded for. RR was part of the biggest pre-season trade for IPL 2026, sending their captain, Sanju Samson, to CSK in exchange for Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran.
This team retained their core of young Indian batters of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Riyan Parag, and wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel. Other retained batters are teen sensation Vaibhav Suryvanshi, West Indies striker Shimron Hetmyer, South African wicketkeeper/batter Lhuan-dre Pretorius, and slog-specialist Shubham Dubey.
Jadeja and Curran will join South African Donovan Ferreira in this team’s all-rounder brigade.
The Jaipur-based franchise had its pace-bowling attack on lock even before the auction, having Jofra Archer, Kwena Maphaka, Nandre Burger, Sandeep Sharma, Tushar Deshpande, and Yuudhvir Singh in the squad.
While Rajasthan did go as high as Rs. 13 crore for Cameron Green, their actual first buy in the auction was a much-needed spin bowling option in Ravi Bishnoi for Rs. 7.20 crore.
With about half of their purse remaining, the Royals, while being part of a few bidding wars, focused on procuring uncapped Indian players as a whole.
First came Jharkhand pacer Sushant Mishra, who has been making waves on the domestic circuit, followed by Karnataka leggie Yash Raj Punja.
RR also bought spinner Vignesh Puthur, who showed signs of excellence in his short stint with the Mumbai Indians last season. They also got into a bit of a tussle over all-rounder Ravi Singh, buying the uncapped Indian for Rs. 95 lakh.
In the second accelerated round of the IPL 2026 auction, the Royals bought two uncapped Indians. First was a US-born Hyderabadi all-rounder, Aman Rao, and a Bengali medium-pace bowler, Brijesh Sharma.
With two slots remaining ahead of the third and final accelerated round, Rajasthan spruced up their pace attack. Their first buy here was New Zealand fast bowler Adam Milne for Rs. 2.40 crore, while their last buy of the day was one of their former players, pacer Kuldeep Sen, for Rs. 75 lakh.
