Ryan Rickelton is a South African cricketer who made his international debut on 31 March 2022. He is a left-handed wicket-keeper batsman who plays for Gauteng and MI Cape Town. He was part of the South African side that won the 2025 ICC World Test Championship final, the country’s second ICC title.
Rickelton was first named in South Africa’s T20I squad in January 2021 for the Pakistan series. He made his Test debut on 31 March 2022 against Bangladesh and made his ODI debut on 18 March 2023 against the West Indies.

Ryan Rickelton’s Personal Life
Ryan has a close bond with his father, Ian Rickelton. Ian coached him from the age of six, taking him to the nets and helping him develop as a batter.
Rickelton reached his maiden Test century with a calm shot past the stumps before running two. He celebrated with a small fist pump for himself, then removed his helmet and looked up in tribute to his father, Ian Rickelton, who was in London. He said his father had been the one who trained him from the age of six, throwing balls and helping him develop his game, and that the century felt like a reward for both of them.
