Mohammed Siraj Gets Perfect Revenge On Phil Salt: The return of Mohammed Siraj to the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium sparked a fire in the pacer as he lit up the RCB vs GT contest in the powerplay with a fiery spell.
Siraj, one of the premier RCB players from 2018 to 2024, was released by RCB ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction. RCB didn’t use RTM on Siraj and neither purchased him back in the mega auction.
The speedster let the management know that perhaps they made a huge blunder by bowling three brilliant overs with the new ball. While the Chinnaswamy crowd cheered him when he came in to bowl, they were left silenced as he rattled the stumps of Devdutt Padikkal and Phil Salt.
The Siraj vs Salt contest became spicy quickly as the Englishman smacked the Indian pacer for a gigantic 105-meter six that went over the Chinnaswamy roof. However, Siraj had the last laugh as he bowled Salt on the very next delivery.
Previously, Salt had walked down the pitch and given himself room to handsomely pull Siraj for a big sixer. The RCB opener attempted a similar pattern on the next ball. This time, though, Siraj went full and in the line of the stumps.
Salt missed his attempted hit through the offside and saw the ball clatter into the stumps. Siraj was charged up and hit Cristiano Ronaldo’s famous ‘Siuu’ celebration while the RCB fans were left in disbelief.
RCB vs GT: Mohammed Siraj Gets Perfect Revenge On Phil Salt
Before Mohammed Siraj’s double strike, left-arm pacer Arshad Khan had dismissed Virat Kohli, who pulled a short ball straight to deep backward square leg. In the 7th over, RCB lost captain Rajat Patidar, with Ishant Sharma taking the important wicket.
Jitesh Sharma has come out and batted with aggression. He’s currently batting on 28 (18), having plundered four fours and a six, with Liam Livingstone in company.
At the time of writing, RCB are 80/4 in 11 overs. This is after GT skipper Shubman Gill won the toss and elected to field.
