DC skipper Rishabh Pant won the toss and elected to bowl first. While the pitch was described as hard and good for batting by the experts, it turned out to be damp, on which the ball held and offered some uneven bounce.
GT captain Shubman Gill creamed a couple of fours to start his innings, but he miscued a full ball from Ishan Sharma that held into the pitch and gave a simple catch to Shaw at cover. Wriddhiman Saha, returning from an injury, looked out of sorts and inside-edged Mukesh Kumar onto his stumps.
Sai Sudharsan stoked a couple of boundaries to Khaleel, but the left-hander was run out by a swift piece of fielding from Sumit Kumar. GT suffered a big blow as David Miller, also returning from an injury, was dismissed for only two runs by Ishant, inside-edging a delivery onto his pads that was taken superbly by Pant with his left hand.
After the powerplay, GT sank further. Rahul Tewatia and Abhinav Manohar managed just one boundary each, and the pressure piled. It was evident as Manohar and Impact Sub Shahrukh Khan were both dismissed by part-timer Tristan Stubbs, both stumped by Pant’s glovework.
Pant would later also take the catch of Rashid Khan. For affecting four dismissals, three of which were simply outstanding pieces of glovework, the Delhi captain was adjudged the Player of the Match.
Axar Patel trapped Tewatia lbw. Rashid Khan brought out some noise from the Ahmedabad crowd with his 31 (24), the highest score by a GT batter tonight, in which he hit 2 fours and a six. Mukesh and Khaleel returned to clean up the rest of the GT line-up as the hosts were knocked over for only 89 runs.

Small target or not, Jake Fraser-McGurk doesn’t need a reason to go hard. The young Aussie thumped a six and a four in the first over of the chase, off Sandeep Warrier. He gave the same treatment to compatriot Spencer Johnson, but the lanky fast bowler had him caught at mid-wicket to have the last laugh.
Warrier got rid of Shaw early before Abishek Porel slammed a couple of fours to Johnson. Shai Hope tore into Warrier with two sixes and a four, but the Kerala seamer managed to dismiss Porel. Rashid got Hope mistiming his reverse sweep to backward point.
Pant walked into huge cheers and smoked Rashid over long-off. Sumit Kumar blasted a couple of boundaries in the 9th over to seal the chase.
With 67 balls to spare, this is the biggest win for Delhi Capitals in terms of balls left.
Score summary: Gujarat Titans 89/10 in 17.3 overs (Rashid Khan 31, Mukesh Kumar 3/14); Delhi Capitals 92/4 in 8.5 overs (Jake Fraser-McGurk 20, Sandeep Warrier 2/40). DC defeated GT by 6 wickets.
