Duckett, who had scored a 150 in the previous match, went to play an off-drive. The ball moved after it bounced as it nicked the bat and was caught by wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel.
In the same over, he also dismissed Ollie Pope for a duck with an LBW as the ball moved a lot in the air. In just one over, Akash had taken his first two Test wickets.

His third wicket, which came soon after, was Zak Crawley. After dismissing the opener in the first ball of the over, Deep did not get his third wicket as it was deemed a no-ball. A few balls later, he bowled an absolute ripper as the ball sharply turned following the bounce and kissed the top of the stump. England were now 57/3.
After that, it was Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin who ensured that the Three Lions were 112/5 after captain Ben Stokes’ wicket. At this point, Joe Root was seeing his team crumbling around him.
Root, who was yet to fire in this innings, stepped away from the ideals of Bazball and played a methodical inning. He slowed the pace down and took minimal risks. Root, along with wicketkeeper Ben Foakes stitched together a 113-run partnership that saved their side from doom.
When even Foakes departed for 47, Joe Root stood like a rock at one end. He finally scored his first century in eight matches.
