2023 saw Kuldeep Yadav regain his position as the premier wrist spinner in the Indian national team. After years of being out of form and struggling with injuries, Kuldeep came back roaring into the national side only to become the highest wicket-taker in ODIs in a year centred around ODI cricket, taking 49 wickets in 30 matches with an average of just over 20.
His standout performance this year was his spectacular 5/25 against Pakistan in the Asia Cup.

2) Nathan Lyon
2023 was yet another year that proved that Nathan Lyon is one of the greatest Test match bowlers of this generation. This year, he reached the milestone of 500 wickets in the format, becoming one of the all-time greats. Lyon took an impressive 47 wickets in 10 matches with an average of under 25.
His standout series performances in 2023 came against Asian sides. First in the Border-Gavaskar trophy against India, and then the ongoing three-match Test series against Pakistan.

1) Mohammed Shami
Mohammed Shami was the best ODI bowler in 2023. While this might look like too confident of a stadium, the sheer stats back this up.
First, he was the highest wicket-taker in the 2023 World Cup despite missing the first few matches. In the 7 matches he played in the tournament, he took a whopping 23 wickets with an average of 10.7 and three 5ers.
Throughout the year, he took 43 wickets in 19 matches with an average of just over 16.
