ICC T20 World Cup 2024 schedule: The ICC T20 World Cup 2024 will be played from June 1 to June 29 across nine venues in the West Indies and the USA.
The tournament will get underway with co-hosts USA taking on Canada in Dallas. The second day of the competition will see the other co-hosts, the West Indies, meet Papua New Guinea in Guyana.
The final will be played at the Kensington Oval in Barbados, and the semi-finals, on June 26 and 27, in Guyana and Trinidad, respectively.
The marquee clash between arch-rivals India and Pakistan is slated for June 9 in New York.
This is the first-ever ICC senior men’s main tournament to be held in the USA, a country where the ICC sees a huge potential cricket market in the future. Cricket will also make its return to the Olympics at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympics.
The ICC released the schedule for the T20 World Cup 2024 on Friday.
India and Pakistan are slated in the same group along with Ireland, Canada, and the USA. All of India’s Group A matches in the first round will be held in the USA – three in New York and one in Florida.
The timing of all India’s matches in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 is 08.30 PM IST.
Jos Buttler’s England team is the defending champion, having won the last T20 World Cup in Australia.
20 teams will take part in the 29-day competition. Talking about the format of the T20 World Cup 2024, the 20 teams are grouped into four groups of five teams. The top two teams from each group will proceed to the Super 8 round, where 8 teams will be grouped into two groups of four teams. The top two teams from each group in the Super 8 round will qualify for the semi-finals. All the Super 8 round matches will be played in the West Indies.
