Serena signed a 2-book deal with Random House: Serena Williams is one of the greatest tennis players in the world. The retired icon is now set to test herself in a different field. The star has signed a two-book deal with Random House Publishing Group and revealed that she is going to write an intimate memoir in which she will discuss everything from her childhood to her professional and personal life.
She admitted that her focus on winning gave her less time to sit back and reflect on her life and career.
“For so long, all I was focused on was winning, and I never sat down to look back and reflect on my life and career. Over the last year, I’ve really enjoyed taking the time with my growing family to celebrate my accomplishments and explore my other passions. I couldn’t be at a more perfect place to be able to take on such a personal and intimate project, and there’s no one I would rather do it with than the team at Random House.”
The second book of two will have an inspirational tone, as revealed by Random House. It will be based on Serena’s experiences as a philanthropist, advocate, and entrepreneur with Serena Ventures and her role in empowering young women who aspire to break free from societal constraints.

After an Incredible Career, Serena signed a 2-book deal with Random House
During her incredible career, Serena accomplished an extraordinary 23 Grand Slam titles in singles, another 14 in doubles with her sister Venus, held the world No. 1 ranking for over 300 weeks, and clinched four Olympic gold medals. Beyond her on-court achievements, Serena Williams is celebrated for shattering racial and gender barriers in the sporting world.
In an essay for Vogue last year, she expressed her hope that her success would encourage women athletes to “be themselves on the court,” to play with strength and style, and to feel proud of their accomplishments.
Williams has previously authored a memoir in 2009, “On the Line,” and a picture story titled “The Adventures of Qai Qai,” which was published last year. Random House announced that her new memoir would be an “open-hearted exploration of the experiences that have shaped her life,” including her journey through the predominantly white and male world of tennis, her personal life, her advocacy for maternal health, and her role as a devoted mother to her daughters.
