Randy Orton Warns the Next WWE Champion
Randy Orton opened the show by discussing his victory over Cody Rhodes at Sunday Night’s Main Event. He said Cody was a good man, husband, father, and friend, but not a killer.
Orton explained that defeating a legend takes a piece of your soul, but Cody’s soul was not for sale. He then said he was different because he was willing to do whatever it took to win his 15th world championship.
Orton warned that whoever wins the WWE Championship match later that night would become his next target. He promised to come after them with the RKO.
Rey Fenix (c) vs “Absolute” Ricky Saints (AAA Cruiserweight Championship)
Rey Fenix and Ricky Saints exchanged fast-paced lucha libre moves early. Saints later took control and hit a tornado DDT on the floor before the match went to break.
In the closing moments, Saints accidentally knocked referee Eddie Orengo down and hit Fenix with a kick. Fenix answered with a handspring Stunner for a nearfall before countering another attack and hitting the Mexican Muscle Buster.
Rey Fenix won by pinfall, retaining the AAA Cruiserweight Championship. After the match, Fenix offered a handshake, but Saints refused and left while repeatedly checking his teeth.
Nikki Bella vs. Paige
Paige controlled the early action, hitting Nikki Bella with a Lou Thesz Press, mounted punches, and hair-whip takedowns. She then threw Bella into the barricade and worked her over near the announce desk.
Nikki fought back at ringside, but Paige reversed the attack and sent her into the steel steps. Back in the ring, Bella caught Paige with a folding press while holding the ropes for extra leverage. Nikki Bella won by pinfall with the folding press.
Trick Williams Celebrates US Title Win
Trick Williams celebrated winning the United States Championship for the second time and praised Mexico City football star Quinones. He also thanked Lil Yachty for helping him beat Baron Corbin. However, Yachty did not appear, as Corbin dragged a battered Yachty onto the stage. Trick chased Corbin away and returned to check on Yachty, but Corbin came back with the Trick Stick and attacked Williams with it.
Chelsea Green (c) vs Nia Jax (WWE Women’s Championship)
Chelsea Green defended the WWE Women’s Championship against Nia Jax in a hard-fought match. Jax used her power to throw Green into the barricade and hit several heavy moves. Jax later tried to use help from Lash Legend, but Tiffany Stratton stopped the interference. Green also used her protective mask after Jax removed it during the match. Jax went for the Banzai Drop, but Green avoided it and climbed to the top rope. She then used the mask to headbutt Jax before hitting the Killswitch for the pinfall victory. Green retained the title.
Damian Priest & Ron “the Truth” Killings vs War Raiders (Erik & Ivar) (c) (AAA World Tag Team Championship)
Damian Priest and Ron “The Truth” Killings challenged War Raiders for the AAA World Tag Team Championship. Priest and Killings started strongly, using quick attacks to keep Erik and Ivar under pressure. They also sent both champions outside the ring with a crossbody from the steel steps.
After the break, Killings attempted an Attitude Adjustment on Ivar, but Erik stopped him with a running knee. The match then broke down before War Raiders regained control. Erik and Ivar finished Priest and Killings with Ragnarok to retain the AAA World Tag Team Championship. After the match, Priest hugged Killings before suddenly attacking him with a lariat and South of Heaven.
CM Punk (c) vs. Sami Zayn (Undisputed WWE Men’s Championship)
CM Punk defended the Undisputed WWE Men’s Championship against Sami Zayn in a hard-fought match. Punk struggled with his injured leg, while Zayn targeted it throughout the contest. Punk fought through the pain and hit the Go to Sleep, but Zayn kicked out. Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae then became involved, giving Zayn an opening.
Punk later applied the Anaconda Vise, but the referee was distracted. Gargano brought the title belt into the ring, while Kevin Owens accidentally struck Punk with it. Zayn then hit Punk with the Helluva Kick for the pinfall victory. Sami Zayn became a two-time Undisputed WWE Men’s Champion.
