Will Kohli vs Gambhir Fight Happen Again?: Kolkata Knight Riders are visiting Royal Challengers Bengaluru today for the 10th match of IPL 2024. KKR and RCB have won a match each to have 2 points out of 2 matches.
There are a lot of interesting things about this matchup. One is that KKR have a hundred percent winning record in Bangalore in the last 5 matches. But this IPL makes it even more interesting as no home team has lost a single match this season. As the match is being held in Bengaluru, one of these streaks will end tonight.
That being said, this might not be the highlight of today’s match. It will be the animosity between Kolkata’s mentor Gautam Gambhir and RCB superstar Virat Kohli.
Last year, Gautam Gambhir was coaching the Lucknow Super Giants. And when LSG met RCB, there was an altercation between Lucknow’s Naveen ul Haq and Virat Kohli. The argument, which ended briefly, escalated when Gautam Gambhir intervened in the matter. This led to a furious exchange between Gambhir and Kohli, and both were fined their full match fee by the BCCI.
Gambhir came out after that and said that he would have defended any player who was at the place of Naveen ul Haq.
“It is not about Naveen-ul-Haq. I would have defended any player, that is my job, and that is how I am. Why should I not defend my players just because someone has a broadcaster working for him, left right, and center, someone who has more social media presence doesn’t have any right to walk over someone. If I cannot stand with my players, then I have no right to be in that dressing room,” said Gambhir.
Will Kohli vs Gambhir Fight Happen Again?
It is highly unlikely that both would take part in an altercation with each other once again. But the presence of Gautam Gambhir might charge up Virat Kohli, and this may bring the best performance out of the legend.
