Virat Kohli Will Not Play Another Test In AUS: In a shockingly straightforward answer in regards to his career and future, Indian Cricket Team superstar Virat Kohli believes that he does not have another tour to Australia as a player in him, suggesting that he will retire before the next Indian tour to the Land Down Under.
The 36-year-old has arguably been the best Indian Test batter to play in Australia. Before the 2024-25 Border-Gavaskar Trophy, his record in Tests in Australia was of having over 1300 runs in 13 matches with an average of over 50.
However, his 2024-25 Test series against the Aussies was one to forget. In the five matches he played, Kohli scored 190 runs at an average of 23.75. This record stands out even more when we remember that he scored an unbeaten 100 in the second inning of the first Test in Perth and helped India win their only game in the series.

While his century makes the tour a little better for him, it only highlights how the rest of the series went for him, as Kohli scored one-digit scores in five of the remaining eight innings.
His poor recent form in Test cricket and the fact that India will not tour Australia for the 2025-27 World Test Championship cycle bring into perspective how unlikely it is for Virat Kohli to play in another Test match in that country. However, it is surprising to hear this from the mouth of Kohli himself, who, in a recent quote given to the Press Trust of India, claimed that he knows that he will not be a part of another Test tour for the Indian Cricket Team to Australia, saying,
“I might not have another Australia tour in me, so I am at peace with whatever happened in the past.”
While Kohli might not play another Test Down Under, he is still an active Test player for India and is expected to be in the team for the five-match Test series in England against the Three Lions in the summer. He is also currently active in ODI cricket and will likely play until the 2027 ODI World Cup.
As for more upcoming plans, he will play his 18th season for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru in IPL 2025 and will look to win his and his team’s first title. RCB will play the opening match of the season on Saturday, March 22, against defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders in Kolkata’s Eden Gardens.
