Vipraj Nigam comes from a small town, Barabanki in Uttar Pradesh. His journey is built on family support and hard work. When he was just 8, he told his father he wanted to play for India. His father, Vijay Nigam, was not earning much then. But he still decided to support his dream.
Later, his father got a government job as a teacher. But it was far from home. Around 150 km away. So he could not stay with the family daily. His mother and grandfather took over. They travelled long distances every day. Sometimes more than 30 km. They carried food for him and stayed with him during practice.
