Triple H Praises Barcelona Star Lamine Yamal: WWE legend, Chief Content Officer, and head booker Triple H has dished out some massive praise for young Barcelona football star Lamine Yamal and claimed that the club’s future “is brighter than ever” with the youngster in the side. This comes following this week’s episode of SmackDown, which emanated live from the Olimpic Arena in Barcelona, Spain.
WWE is on a two-week tour of Europe, which started with the March 14 episode of SmackDown in Spain, which was the first-ever episode of the blue brand that was shot live in that country. The tour will see shows take place in Spain, Germany, Belgium, Italy, the UK, Austria, and the Netherlands.
The tour kicked off with last night’s show and saw the likes of Randy Orton, Gunther, Jacob Fatu, Charlotte Flair, and Damian Priest in action. We also heard from the new United States Champion LA Knight and the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes. There was also a title change in the main event, as the Street Profits won their first title in almost four years when they defeated DIY for the WWE Tag Team Championship.

In attendance for this banger of a show was Lamine Yamal. The 17-year-old has been one of the most promising talents in world football for a season or so. He has now graduated to being one of the best players in Europe.
For Barcelona, Yamal has scored five and assisted 11 goals this season as his side sits at the top of La Liga. In the 2024 Euros, a tournament during which he turned 17, Lamine scored one and assisted four goals in seven matches, was in the Team of the Tournament, and won the Young Player of the Tournament and the Goal of the Tournament awards.
Lamine Yamal, one of the biggest celebrities in the city of Barcelona, being in the crowd for SmackDown just added to the insane atmosphere of this show.

Addressing that one of the most popular footballers in the world was at a WWE show, company COO and head booker Paul “Triple H” Levesque took to social media and posted a picture of himself with Yamal. In the caption, he noted that the future of FC Barcelona is brighter than ever.
“The future of FC Barcelona is brighter than ever…enjoy the show, Lamine,” wrote Triple H.
While Yamal’s contract with Barca is set to expire next year, it is highly unlikely that the club will let their young superstar go, as they see him as the next Lionel Messi.
As for WWE, the next stop on their European tour will see them go to Germany for a couple of house shows before next week’s Monday Night Raw, which will take place in the Forest National in Brussels, Belgium, and will see John Cena make his first WWE appearance since turning heel at the Elimination Chamber a few weeks ago.
