SRH Defeated LSG By 10 Wickets With 62 Balls Left: Sunrisers Hyderabad completely dismantled the Lucknow Super Giants in the 58th match of IPL 2024.
SRH took on LSG in Match 57 of IPL 2024 in Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium. The away team won the toss and decided to bat first.
The Super Giants did not get off to the best start, as Quinton de Kock was dismissed in the third over. Marcus Stoinis soon followed suit, being dismissed for just three in the fifth over. LSG’s powerplay score was 27/2.
Captain KL Rahul kept the runs ticking, albeit very slowly. When he was dismissed for a dismal 29-off-33 balls, the team was 57/3 in the 10th over.
From here, the incoming batters did pick up the pace. After Krunal Pandya was dismissed for almost run-a-ball 24, Nicholas Pooran and Ayush Badoni took the pitch and started whacking.
Pooran scored 48 runs in 26 balls, while Ayush Badoni scored a solid half-century, scoring 55 in 30. LSG ended with a below-par but respectable score of 165. Bhuvneshwar Kumar took the two powerplay wickets.
It was not the Sunrisers who came onto bat, and as soon as their inning started, it looked like the match was all but over.
Openers Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head were kept a little quiet, scoring eight runs in the first over. But then the havoc started.
25 in two overs became 47 in three and a whopping 107 in the six overs of the powerplay. Head scored a half-century in just 16 balls.
The slogging never stopped, as it looked like the home side was looking to finish the match an hour early.
Sharma reached his 50 not long after, in 19 deliveries. But the milestones did not slow down any of them, as the opening duo kept marching on. The Aussie even hit a 104-metre six off Ravi Bishnoi in the eighth over.

The match finished soon after, as the target was chased down in just 9.4 overs. Travis Head scored 89 off 30 balls, while Abhishek Sharma finished the match with a six, scoring 75 in 28 deliveries.
This match has given a massive boost to SRH’s playoff chances and has practically ended Lucknow’s hope for a top-four finish.
With that win, the Sunrisers Hyderabad are third on the league table with 14 points in 12 matches. They will face the Gujarat TItans in their next game on May 16 in Hyderabad’s Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium.
